If this title doesn’t say it all I don’t know what does.
The KAR98 is probably one of the most used marksman rifles in Call of Duty: Warzone. With the right attachments this can be the go-to rifle for everyone. Hitting shots that shouldn’t be hit. Be it a team in a moving vehicle or an enemy close-quarters, this is the weapon for you.
Although this isn’t a sniper rifle it’s still as good as one, even the HDR. Though each weapon has their own pro’s and con’s this rifle definitely has more pro’s than con’s.
The Gewehr 98 (abbreviated G98, Gew 98, or M98) is a German bolt action rifle made by Mauser firing cartridges from a 5-round internal clip-loaded magazine. It was the German service rifle from 1898 to 1935, when it was replaced by the Karabiner 98k, a shorter weapon using the same basic design
For those that have already used this rifle, which I’m sure you have, it has its advantages and disadvantages like any other weapon, although with the right breath, and the right timing this gun can surely make you feel like you’re good at the game. Downing an enemy play with one headshot, or even getting the one shot one kill.
The KAR98 is a balanced rifle, with the right attachments. The Loadout is as follows:
- Monolithic Suppressor
- Singuard Custom 27.6”
- Tac Laser
- Variable Zoom Scope
- FTAC Sport Comb

As mentioned before, this marksman rifle has it’s pro’s and con’s. Though it’s no HDR it sure feels like one sometimes. Both weapons are incredible, though the HDR is best for the long shots and the KAR98 is better for the closer combat, with it’s quick ADS it’s more efficient close up.
Now, although the KAR98 is beat for the close-combat, the Variable Zoom Scope gives it that edge on targets that are longer range. Like the HDR, if you just balance that shot right, you’ll hit it no problem.
Personally, I use the KAR98 as a secondary weapon. Paring it with either an assault rifle or an SMG which gives you an even bigger chance of winning those close-quarter fights. Using the marksman rifle to finish the enemy off when they’re downed.
