So, here’s how the idea came about. I was playing The Division 2 (learn about this game here) one of my all time favourite looting games, and Tom Clancy! Anyway, one of the missions was loading, and it looked like this.
It was then I realised. I had seen a TikTok recently about someone who recreated a basic AI of Jarvis. Which got me thinking, what if there was a Division Jarvis? How cool would that be. Giving both Apple and Android users a chance to experience what the all and mighty Tony Stark did. Making it available for the Apple Watch or the Samsung Watch.
Now, this is where it gets tricky. Though my idea is just the foundation and could really be something, I know absolutely nothing about AI. so I’ll be using this page to help me keep track of my progress. This will only be a side project, and wow! Imagine if it pays off.
The beginning.
So, as we all know, I know very little, if nothing about AI. My first point of call is learning, getting the knowledge and the basics of what it is, and how to use it. This will more than likely be the longest process but I’ll keep documented what I’ve learnt.
The aim.
The first aim is to learn about AI and what you can do with it, the complete basics. Small scale wise, I just want to get used to it as it’s all new to me.
The end game and grand scheme of things is to make this accessible to everyone, no matter what phone, laptop, computer, or smart watch you have.
The theme of The Division 2; this game is definitely underrated, and though it was released back in March 2019. Though the original The Division was released back in 2016. The game still has thousands of active players and they update the game on a regular basis. In the game, they have their own AI, ISAC, which is effectively JARVIS. Plus, the colour’s pretty cool. Imagine an orange JARVIS.
Currently at the moment, any cool or moving ISAC designs on the watch are only on Androids, Apple does not currently have any kind of Division background, not unless you use your own photo, which is what I had to do, ended up with this.
I want the AI to be a functioning ISAC/JARVIS and really be able to help all people, to have someone there when it feels like no one is. Someone who will always be there to insight you with all the knowledge you desire (within reason, ha!). But more importantly, this is a personal goal. I always start side projects and end up just cutting it off half way through and then starting something new. Not this time.
Personal development.
I’m putting this part here so that when I feel down, or I feel absolutely useless taking on this incredibly long and draining task, I want to remember why I’m doing this, to keep that motivation. I want to finish this. Doing this, I’ll gain knowledge that I never knew I thought I could, that I’m never where I thought I would be. To read through this and really see how much I have learnt, and how far I’ve come. It’ll be a long road, and there’ll be dark days too, but when this is complete it’ll be worth it.
