Apple have released Apple CarPlay, which is great. Siri is used primarily in this as you speak to Siri through your car to send a message or to call someone. Siri can also read out your messages whilst you’re driving too!
Although this sounds really great, which it is, there’s one key downfall.
We all know that when you spend too much time plugging and unplugging your iPhone from its charger cable, after a considerable amount of time, this can affect the battery and how long it lasts. One day you’ll notice that you can go the whole day, maybe even two days without charging it and then the next you notice you need to whack it on charge every 6 hours.
The way to use CarPlay (if your vehicle supports it) is by plugging your phone in via USB directly into the USB port in your car. Effectively, once you’ve plugged your iPhone in, it’s charging the device, as well as opening up the grand display of CarPlay on your screen.
So, realistically, if you don’t want to mess with your phone’s battery, CarPlay is really only great for long journey’s and IF, only if, your iPhone is low on battery.
