During the release of the new devices being released, on top of Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade, Apple had also mentioned about the release of Apple News Plus.
This service is an ‘all you can eat’ access to magazines and newspapers in the UK and US.
What is Apple News Plus?
Apple News is a free app which curates news articles from a range of media outlets, the popular and the not-so popular. This is all add-free and suited to your device. Although you may get some paywalled articles such as The New York Times or The Guardian.
The launch of News+ brought brought some of these stragglers into the fold: Apple proudly mentioned at the unveiling that WJS and LA Times had signed up.
Oddly enough, the biggest draw of News+ is likely to be in areas other than news. It includes ‘all you can eat’ access to magazines and newspaper articles under a fixed monthly fee (£9.99 a month in the UK).
UK Publications
In it’s press release following the launch of News+, Apple highlighted the following publications that are specific to the UK:
These include: Cosmopolitan UK, Cyclist, Elle UK, Smpire, Esquire UK, EVO, Grazia, Heat, Hello!, House Beautiful, Men’s Health UK, Women’s Health UK, MoneyWeel, Q: The Biggest Music Magazine, FourFourTwo, and The Times and The Sunday Times.
However, although you may have to pay £9.99 a month, the first month is a free-trial! The paid subscription will automatically renew once the trial ends.
